They have higher strength compared to the 1000 and 3000 series alloys, but lower strength compared to the 6000 and 7000 series alloys. 3. Corrosion Resistance: The addition of magnesium provides the 5000 series alloys with excellent corrosion resistance, particularly in marine environments.
