Product Description:Aluminum-coated color coil is a high-performance composite material made of high-quality steel substrate (such as HX180/220 high-strength steel) by hot-dip aluminized or aluminum-zinc alloy (such as Aluzinc®), and the surface is coated with PVDF or PE color coating. With a standard width of 1000mm or 1200mm and a thickness of 0.5mm, it combines metal strength with lightweight, making it ideal for construction, industry and new energy sectors.
Aluminum-Zinc Alloy
Typical composition: 55% aluminium (Al) + 43.4% zinc (Zn) + 1.6% silicon (Si)
Representative brands: Galvalume® (Steelunion patent), Aluzinc® (European common name)
Performance characteristics:
Synergistic corrosion protection: Aluminum provides long-term corrosion resistance (inert protection) and zinc acts as a sacrificial anode for preferential oxidation, filling the risk of corrosion at scratches or cuts.
High temperature resistance: The high melting point of aluminum (660°C) makes the alloy layer more stable in high-temperature environments, and is suitable for industrial high-temperature areas (such as chimney walls).
Salt spray life: The salt spray test can reach 1000-1500 hours (only 300-500 hours for ordinary galvanized sheet), which is suitable for high-corrosion environments such as coastal and chemical plants.
Pure Aluminum Coating
Composition: ≥99% aluminum (Al), containing trace amounts of iron (Fe), silicon (Si) and other elements.
Applicable Scenarios:
Extreme weather resistance: e.g. strong acid/alkali environments (chemical plant housings).
Electromagnetic shielding: The conductivity of pure aluminum is better than that of aluminum-zinc alloy, which is used for the protection of battery shells and electronic equipment of new energy vehicles.
3. Other improved alloys
Aluminum-magnesium alloy (Al-Mg): Magnesium (2-5%) is added to improve strength and seawater corrosion resistance, and is used in ships and offshore platforms.
Aluminum-silicon alloy (Al-Si): The silicon content is increased to 8-12%, which enhances the adhesion between the coating and the steel substrate and reduces the risk of cracking during processing
