5052 Aluminium foil is a thin sheet of aluminium that has been processed into a semi-rigid form and used for a variety of purposes. It is also known as aluminum foil.
Thicknesses of aluminium foil range from 0.006 inch (0.15 mm) to 0.25 inch (0.64 mm). It is lightweight, highly malleable, and can be easily formed into various shapes and sizes.
5052 Aluminium foil is commonly used for packaging and wrapping food items. It is also used for storage and transportation of other items.
Production Process of 5052 Aluminium Foil
The 5052 aluminum foil manufacturing process generally goes through casting, homogenization, surface treatment, hot rolling, cold rolling, foil rolling, washing, winding, annealing, and finally cutting.
5052 Aluminum Foil Structure
Aluminum is a very active metal, so it is easily oxidized by oxygen in the air to form aluminum oxide at normal temperature and pressure. Aluminum oxide is a dense protective film, which can prevent some substances from further corroding aluminum.

Classification of 5052 Aluminium Foil
Thick foil: With a thickness of 0.1-0.2mm.
Single zero foil: With thickness ≤0.1mm.
Double zero foil: With two zeros after the decimal point when its thickness is measured in mm, usually the thickness is less than 0.0075mm.
Hard foil: Without softening treatment (annealing) after rolling.
Semi-rigid foil: Hardness is between hard foil and soft foil.
Soft foil: After rolling, it has been completely annealed and softened. The material is soft and has no oil residue on the surface
General foil: Without any other processing after rolling.
Embossed foil: With various patterns on the surface.
Composite foil: Formed by pasting aluminum foil, paper, plastic film, and cardboard together.
Coated foil: Coated with various resins or paints on the surface.
Colored foil: Coated with color on the surface.
Printed foil: With various patterns, patterns, characters or pictures printed on the surface.
Application of 5052 Aluminium Foil
From thick foil to single zero foil and double zero foil, this material with a thickness of no more than 0.2mm is widely used in daily life. There are household foils, container foils, lunch box foils, food foils, flexible packaging foils, beer sealing foils, etc. used in food. In addition to the kitchen, aluminum foil is commonly used in life, such as medicinal foil, cigarette foil, hairdressing foil and decorative foil. Other application fields include battery foil, battery soft package foil, electronic label foil, circuit board foil, air-conditioning duct foil, brazing foil, automotive air-conditioning fin foil, heatsink foil, printing foil, electronic foil, thermal insulation foil, circuit board foil, cardboard foil, heat sealing foil, electronic foil, etc.
The packaging of 5052 aluminum foil should be based on the specification and size of the product. The packaging box and packaging method should be selected. For box-type packaging, the product should not be squeezed or moved after the box.
Features of 5052 Aluminium Foil
Lightweight and Durable: Aluminum foil is lightweight and can be used for a variety of purposes, including packaging, wrapping, and protecting food items. It is also durable enough to withstand being bent and flexed multiple times without tearing or deforming.
2. Airtight and Waterproof: Aluminum foil forms an airtight and waterproof seal when pressed together, making it useful for storing food and other items that require protection from air, moisture, and contamination.
3. Heat Resistant: Aluminum foil can withstand high temperatures, making it safe to use in hot food packaging and other high-temperature applications.
4. Flexibility: Aluminum foil is highly flexible and can be easily formed into various shapes and sizes, making it suitable for a wide range of packaging and storage solutions.
Recyclable: Aluminum foil can be easily recycled and reused, reducing waste and environmental impact.
5. Non-reactive: Aluminum foil is non-reactive with most foods and other items, making it safe for use in contact with food and other sensitive items.
Q: What is the difference between Aluminum Foil and Tin Foil?
A:Aluminum is often confused with tin, such as tin foil etc. Aluminum has replaced tin in most industrial applications, such as cans. Tin is considered to be toxic to humans whereas specific aluminum alloys have been FDA approved for direct and indirect food contact.
Q:Is Food Grade Aluminum Foil Toxic?
A:It's incredibly unlikely that you'll consume toxic amounts of aluminum just by cooking with foil.
Q:Are Aluminium Foils' products environmentally friendly?
A:Yes. Materials purchased from Aluminium Foils are compliant to regulations defined in RoHS II, SVHC, REACH and Conflict Minerals.
Q:How long can you keep food in aluminum foil?
A:Three to four days
Q:Is aluminum foil recyclable?
A:Aluminum foil is recyclable if it's free of food residue. Do not recycle dirty aluminum because food contaminates recycling.
